Ahh okay I know that place. It's about 20 minutes north of Bangor. We also explored that place a little but we didn't have a lot of time that day. I can't remember the name of it, but it is in a town called LaGrange. The guy used to collect all the old military vehicles from one of the bases up there, as well as random old cars. There are rows of 50s Chevy air force vehicles, and all kinds of neat stuff. The property owner passed away about 10-15 years ago and nothing has been done with the property since. I am going to try to get back there after the leaves fall. I didn't see that 68 you speak of, but I also didn't go very far in.. That would be a cool car, especially as an Impala convertible.
Here is a picture of my dad's 68 vert:

The yard by me is called Ayottes. They have one T83 car, a 69 Caprice, but the front clip was sold about a year ago. Let me know if you are looking for any 68 stuff. We have a lot of parts. Where in NY are you located?

Wow, that car looks very similar to the one that was in the yard. My father almost bought the hood from the car because he wanted one with that grill in it. I'm looking for the pictures of it now. The engine and trans was in the car but my father had no space for another 427 engine, though he could have used the muncie. My father says your descriptions of the place are accurate. You have to go a ways back to find the stuff.

I'm over by Plattsburgh. My father is currently staying in Ohioville this month.

BTW, Can you tell me how many HD 3spds were ordered in 68?

Robb

Cool, I am in Highland, about 3 miles from Ohioville. I hope you can find those pictures! The car you describe would be quite a sight to see. Chevrolet built 365 B bodies with RPO M13 heavy duty 3 speed. Is that what your Caprice has, 427 with a 3 speed?? (wow!)

I have found some images of the yard but they are on slides and really small negatives! Do you know how I can blow them up? Yes, my caprice is a 427 with the M13 3spd. Do you know what my rear axle code means? It is code DM. I need to get the car out of storage at some point and take some pictures of it. It was put in storage when we moved to NY in the 70's.

I'm not sure how slides are blown up, I think there is a machine you can buy that will scan them into your computer, but I have never investigated that. DM is a 3:73 posi. Wow, that is one oddball Caprice! I have been searching for years to find a 68 427 with the 3 speed, just to prove they made one. Is it column shift or floor? What did you get the DM code off of? Protecto plate?

It is floor shift with the muncie handle and black/chrome ball. I got the DM code off the rear axle. Can you decode other things for me?

Yes, I would be more then happy to decode your whole car for you. My brother and I actually specialize in 65-69 full size, and my concentration is 68s. I just can't believe that car is equipped like that. If you could get the vin and cowl tag info/engine/trans numbers that would be great.
