Not a secret, i called the auction company to find out. But the buyer may not want public. Good to know though if owner ever sells or decides to flip.

Out of respect for the situation and mutual ties amongst close friends I will not disclose what was paid for the cars. But, my opinion is that it is of ZERO consequence in the future what someone paid for a given car, horse, house, cobra fender, widget or otherwise: it's worth what it's worth and what someone has in it simply does not matter. Point in question our cobra parts. I know within reason what they (could) be worth and I could give a rats butt if anyone knows what we paid for them. Truthfully they are soooo super cool that I would not consider selling them at ANY number right now. And I am sure Dave feels very much the same way about his super cool find. Congrats to all who attended the auction and walked away with something cool, no matter how rare it was or wasn't.

Exactly, price is not important at all to anyone else but the owner. I am a buyer of these vintage racecars with history and would guesstimate could fetch anywhere from $50k to $100k today.

I'm guessing that anybody who REALLY wants to know can call the auction company and find out what was the winning bid. I also know that as previously observed, it's not of any importance to anyone but Dave. I started this thread for Dave at his request, and there should be no doubt that this car is a keeper. When he is done going through the drivetrain, and fluffing up the exterior, this car will be seeing some track time for the first time since 1974.
I promise that there will be more pics posted as the project continues. Thanks, Andy ![]()

Like I said, since it was a public auction and not a private sale, I didn't think it was going to be a big deal. Apparently, I was wrong. I don't understand why the owner doesn't just say I paid XXXXXX amount of dollars for it and put it to rest. Eventually, somebody is going to post the figure, I am just curious as are most others. Sorry for asking.

Calling up the auction company to find the selling price! You really felt the need to know that selling price, didn't ya? That, and "good to know if owner ever wants to sell or flip." Help me out here......why is this good for you to know and WHY would it make a difference if he decides to "flip" it. Why can't you just be happy that a nice guy found a great car and let it go at that?

I don't see problem asking......so how much ?
