[ QUOTE ]
I found that the correct casting numbers are, per Ron Norman, if anyone cares or wants to dispute: 6470128 rh 6470126 lh Ron has a buddy who took these off of his original '70 L78 [/ QUOTE ] Same as on my 1100 mile car.

I still think they are 54 not 64, enclosed pic. 5470126 [/ QUOTE ] Kim, I agree that your pic looks like a 5, I will post a pic of the number on the calipers I bought when I get them. I really have no clue which is correct but am at the point that I will just go with what I have. I appreciate everyone's input and it's not like this is a life or death issue, unless they don't stop the car when I need them to!

The correct casting numbers for 1970 Camaro calipers are 5470125 for the left side and 5470128 for the right side as shown in the pics below
The casting numbers on many 1970 Camaro calipers are very difficult to read. The first and last digit of the 5470125 casting number can look like the number 6 when in fact they are the number 5 as shown in the pics below The first digit number 5 of the 5470128 casting number can look like the number 6 with a really bad casting but with a more crisp casting the actual number is 5 as shown in the pic below The big problem with the number 5 is the bottom curls around almost to the point of connecting and on some they do connect which makes it look like the number 6, however a 6 is curved at the top and the number 5 is straight across the top I have included pics of 1970 Camaro calipers with the best looking casting numbers to show they are in fact 5470125 L and 5470128 R USER-3965175 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I thought the ride side was 5470126 also but all my of 1970 Camaro calipers show the number 8.
Here are two more pics of the right side which shows the last digit clearly as the number 8 not a 6 and the casting does not look like it has bled into the number to make it an 8 Compare the number 6 in the 1st pic below in the casting mold number "GM 16" to the last digit 8 in the 5470128 casting number and they are different, the last digit is clearly the number 8 not a 6 The number 6 has a larger top circle where it curves around the top and stops to form the 6 whereas the last digit 8 in the casting number 547128 has a smaller circle where it curves around the top to form the top half circle of the number 8 The two circle halves of the 6 are closer to the same size but the number 8 has a large bottom circle and a much smaller top circle so the casting reads as 5470128 not 5470126 USER-3965175 ![]() ![]() |
