Pretty crazy considering that in 1908 the Wright Brothers had their first "passenger" flight of an airplane...then on March 3,1959 we "flew by" the moon with Pioneer 4!
That's only 51 years later! Then on April 23rd, 1962 we impacted the moon with Ranger 4, we "Soft" landed on the moon on May 30th 1966 with Surveyor 1 (unmanned)...and kept going from there. Truly a HUGE jump in knowledge and ability in a very short time history wise...
