Bill, I had a Camaro that when it was parked on an incline you could put the clutch in and it would not roll back and I had a bear of a time getting the car into reverse. It ended up being the bellhousing not being lined up properly causing the input shaft to bind. You might want to pull the trans and check it out on the bench first before you send it out.
