It would be nice to hear from whoever is in charge, as this morning I got an email from another member of this site who said he spoke with someone connected with the drag car class at MB and RA was supposed to be there.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you anything else. I am pretty sure organizing the show is done after work hours for most of the people, so it all depends on how responsible the respective person is. My contact just had a grandchild, but he said "Sounds like a big oops on the Red Alert...don’t know the details...thanks for the link, though." I'm assuming there's a ph# to call?

Got a call from the head of the selection committee for Meadow Brook who was able to explain things. Seems it was just a case of he and some of his committee members not communicating as well as they should have. As the head of the committee he said all final decisions, good or bad, were his, and that he would take full responsibility for how things were handled. I respect him for that.

Being a fan of drag racing, especially cars from the ‘60s and ‘70s, he extended a personal invitation for me to have RA at the event.

I was at Meadowbrook last year and while it is mostly full of Auburns, Cords, Deusenbergs there was a section of significant muscle cars, drag cars & factory lightweights. My personal highlight was the Sox Sinclair Service '63 Z-11 Impala. When that thing fired up and rolled past the judging stand I almost has tears in my eyes. Red Alert will be a very nice addition to the show. I look forward to seeing you there.

Glad to hear the mis-communication has been resolved.

There could not be a a more deserving car or owner for this event.
