I worked at P.V.Speed (Malden,MA) from 1979 to the early 90's. Between us and New England Speed we were the big guys in the area. There were a few V8 Vegas around with either Hooker or Don Hardy kits but no Motion cars that I can remember. A buddy of mine had an orange GT wagon with a Hooker kit and a Motion set up 12 Bolt ladder bar rear but the car was so rusty and poorly set up he broke it almost weekly. I don't remember a Juniors shop but may have been someones name running it.

thanks tim. i actually spoke to Brian Peavey on friday. he raced a black vega (white before him) in the early 70s. we confirmed his vega is not a match to mine. i have found an owner back to the mid 70s who is digging up some pics from me. various motion pieces and parts were on the car when he bought it and before he further modified the body and painted it blue. who knows...i remain hopeful

Brian is a trip and so is his brother Bob, I loved working for them and would like to think I would still be there today if the overall market hadn't changed so drasticly in the '90s I have some old pictures of the company '55 Nomad, the '70 Pro Stock Camaro, the Vega, C/FX Monza, and TAFC Funny Car somewhere. Was Brain trying to find some pictures for you?

I didnt ask Brian for pics of his Vega since its a different car. The gentlemen that owned mine in the mid 70s is forwarding me some pics from when it was street raced. i am more hopeful he tracks down pics of it before he modified and painted it. the few guys ive spoken to in the NH area have been incredibly friendly and helpful. real nice people

------Dick and his partner, Tom sold me a bunch of stuff for my 64 GP 421/370, 4spd, and I in turn gave them an idea for a driveshaft loop for racing attached to the trans crossmember rather than the floor. They sold a bunch of those and the very first one I ever built is on "Red Alert" to this day.......Bill S

some new info. a prior owner said the car was painted in a bi-centennial style back in 1979. red on top, then thick white striping and then blue on bottom. does that ring a bell?

Bill, Yes, although there were several, are your refering to Dick Stein, who ran a S/S Chevy II that spent most of its career on its rear bumper

------Not Stein but Duclow. I didnt think about the possibility of more than one Dick. Big DUH!!! He ended up starting "Indian Adventures" and offered Pontiac stalwarts a lot of cool stuff. Sold the business and, I think, went south for a much deserved retirement. One of the good guys!.....Bill S
