Yes but, you can't get over 20 mpg along with the improved ride, handling, longer maintenance periods; etc. I think most people considering a new Camaro are looking for a car they can use as a daily driver and still have that essence of the classic Camaro.
As much as I love the first generation Camaros I would not want one as my daily driver.
