[ QUOTE ]
I e-mailed some Oshawa car plant maintenance friends to find out what was going on with the Camaro line. Two came back with the same reply. Everything is poking along at a snails pace. It seems as if management doesn't really care if the Camaro ever gets built. The people are ready to work but there just doesn't seem to be much direction from above. From my many years of experience with model change overs in Oshawa, probably about 10, production would be up to full speed by now. The workers were called back in early November. Three months is turtle speed and things are still slow from what I have heard. WHAT is going on? [/ QUOTE ] My understanding is that they are about six wweks behind the 2/13 release date of the Camaro. I am not sure of the #of preordered cars but I believe it is over 5000?? cars. That should be enough pull demand to get the assembly process moving. Like any new introductions there are delays, however this introduction is compounded by the economic variable.
