Bob,
Joe Barr (CamaroJoe) has quite the collection and should be able to give you an idea. Of course it depends on condition. Here are my originals, pock marks, faded, and all >>>>

I tried to find the fairly recent thread on radiator cap restoration, but couldn't
. Someone suggested using Windex and quad-ought steel wool. Worked wonders! I spent the last two evenings using plenty of elbow grease as it is pretty slow going. My Windex had a little vinegar (acid) in it which I think helps. Last photo compares my restored original to a reproduction. It is not a bad repop, but there are differences in the brass rivet and some details in the letters. Big thanks to the fella who suggested the Windex and 0000 steel wool ! ![]()

Being retired Navy, Sam's used to hand polishing knobs and stuff... Looks good though I must admit.

[/ QUOTE ] Thanks Chuck - Schonye will have to chime in on his source and cost for this repop cap. (Be advised - i asked Schonye to save a number of projects for me to restore including this cap). Restorable caps? some of the folks like Jason "SuperNovaSS" will have to weigh in on this.

Chuck, the repo cap came from Ron Norman, at McHenry Classics in IL. I can get you a nbr if you need it. I don't remember what the cost was.
