We were desperately trying to purchase a Corvette that didn't sell at the auction and we've had no luck. Wrote up an official offer to purchase on Saturday evening and said we were open to a counter offer. As far as I know, the Corvette has not sold. Do they generally make an effort to sell a car after it has not reached it's reserve? The yellow sign in the window stated the highest bid and said the car was still for sale. An email today got some response, but the hope was to close the deal by Monday afternoon and avoid the car being shipped back to the West Coast and get it shipped directly to Texas.

I think that's the primary purpose of putting that yellow sign on the dashboard....sure seems strange that you are getting no response to your offer Perhaps Sam ('mockingbird812') could enlighten you further, as he had a car in the R-S auction this year.

They made contact yesterday afternoon and everyone is working to put a deal together. The car is still in Phoenix.
They may have had many follow-ups and possibly started with the highest price cars first. With any luck, the car will end up in Austin.

To see the selling prices you have to log in. At first you will only see results for cars that sold. You have to click " to see cars that are still available click here" at the top of the page to see the entire docket.

I went thru the whole list....out of 502 cars offered, 211 of them sold, making a 42% sales rate. That was a little lower than I had guessed it would be

WOOOOOW !! I wonder if that was the YOUNG GUY who bought some serious cars there !! I am always in awww when someone spends that kind money at auctions. WHHHHHYYYYYY
Over 75,000 in fees !! Dont they just put the buyer & seller together? Inside joke ! I wonder how many times this happens to these auction houses ?

Friday night in prime time there was a superstar buyer going on a breakaway buying spree. Is this the buyer that you speak of?
