I wonder if you take the blue siding off if you will reveal the old logo that was painted??

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, sorta.. the siding was actually just added within the last 4 or 5 years... but prior to that it was painted over with white, but you could still see the faint silloutte of the "YENKO" letters in the right light. Heck, come to think of it, that could have been closer to 10 years ago now...

Great post Sam. Brought back a lot of memories. I can actually see the spot where our old Deuce was sitting when we arrived at the dealership all those years ago. Can also see where Earl drove and parked the car after we came back from the test ride. I had forgotten how small the lot actually was, it had grown a lot bigger in my mind over the years. Linda

Hey Linda. Merry Christmas! Hope you and Earl are keeping warm. Glad you enjoyed seeing the old dealership. Surprising how much it hasn't changed.

Cheers!

Hi Marlin, Sorry it took so long to get back to your question. I've been working a lot of 12 hour midnight shifts and I also wanted to verify what I remember with what Earl remembers. If you go the "poke here" site that Sam posted and face the dealership I'll give you a run through.
First count the single car out front as row 1. We don't remember much about that row. Sitting somewhere in row 2 Earl remembers a used Yenko Camaro, he thinks either blue or green. First in row 3 was a silver deuce, then our FB deuce, then we think a yellow one and next to it a FG deuce. We don't remember any of the other colors being there at the time. I remember the FG deuce because it too caught our eye but when we checked it out a little closer we found it was an automatice and we both wanted a four speed.
When we came back from our test ride, the salesman pulled the car in front of the showroom and Earl was allowed to drive the car back and park it in its spot. You'll remember on the original post about the car that we weren't allowed to actually take the car for a test drive. Was that standard procedure or did it have something to do with Earl's long hair and "bad boy" look at the time? When we went back to the dealership to pick up the car I remember leaving the lot sideways and an awful lot of rubber being left on the road. That was Earl's version of the longed for test drive!! What wonderful memories!!! We think that's pretty accurate. Linda and Earl
