FYI, The above 5/8" x 1" oblong hole wheels were only made/used on Jan-early June 70 Z-28's, before changing to 13/16" x 1" holes on late June/July Z's, which stayed through the 1974 Model Year.

It wasnt until the reintroduction of Z-28 in 77' when the ROUND hole wheels came out.

Those correct plastic/metal tip air valve extensions are rarely seen on any restored Z-28

Previous picture showed better the RARE 1st design trim ring and very rare high crown stainless jacketed lug nuts.

When I workd at the Chevy dealer in '70, the 'long' water pumps used in '69-'70 had a very high failure rate. Could explain the clamp on the Z. Just a thought.

Interesting that this car has the 772 fan blade where my auto Z-28 LA built 03B car has the unmarked fan blade.

I still have some of those. I didn't think they were used off the line. Something new I learned.

. I'm guessing this one got blown up at the subframe at the dealership while the undercoat was still wet.

Here's a link supporting Chuck's comment, to some research I did on the wheel hole size vs date "timeline" if anyone is interested.
