Not sure about the earlier 'Vette bias tires, but I know we've driven a *LOT* of miles on Polyglass tires in our various Chevelles/Novas/Camaros, and they've been fine for me...granted, we're not talking late model ZO6 type handling, but the older suspensions weren't designed for radials anyway, so any gains from tire upgrades will be limited without performance suspension upgrades...and I couldn't get our Eagle GTs to 60' with our Polyglass tires anyway!

BTW, good to see ya around here John Z...

Seems to me it's just another case of wanting 'everything' in one package. (Kinda like the Avalanche; it tries to be everything, but does NONE of it well! )
Sure, the bias ply tires aren't radials and don't give the ride and handling characteristics of the newer generation tires. But face the facts folks; we love the OLD cars. We do everything possible to make the cars exactly as they were in 'the day',.......... then talk about better tires, etc.
I have radials (obviously) on my daily driver Silverado and YES, it rides and handles better than my Chevelle or Nova. But I have bias tires on both those cars and have no plans to change. If you like the ride of a new car, build a Pro Touring piece and enjoy it. The cars we all love had bias ply tires. Live with it.
