Remarks: CNW train #576, with 5 loads and 46 empties (left) readies for departure to Proviso from South Janesville yard on a Sunday afternoon. It is viewed from atop a loaded autorack of 1970 Camaros fresh out of the GM plant at Janesville. At one point, GM employed over 7,100 (1978), and by 2005 over 16 million vehicles had been produced there. GM will cease all production at this plant 12/23/08, ending nearly 85 years of auto/truck building in J'ville.
