Just asking, since I've never been to a Super Chevy, but is the attendence down because people who don't have "Trophy" type cars are tired of paying a lot of money so that Super Chevy can charge admission for other folks to go look at these cars?

I've also heard people with trailer queen cars complain loudly about the politics involved in the judging.

Is this really true?

Andy, there is a certain degree of politics at all of these shows.. But I can tell you first hand that I was part of it at a Super Chevy Show back in 2001. I took my Nova there, won an award and was directly involved with politics from another guy who parked near me with a 70 Nova. He complained to the judges that my car should not have been entered in the stock class because I had headers on the car, which I have since removed and put the manifolds/smog back on the car. So they bumped me into a "street class" because of this even though the one judge said that he was going to overlook my headers because the rest of the car was all stock.. Turns out the guy who cried and complained didn't win anything in the stock class and I did even though I was bumped into another class... I probably would never take my car back again..
