Guys , I just finished reading a back issue of Aces, Jan/Feb 2007 and saw an article on pg 20 about Mike Moore's Shadow Grey LS6 .Now although the car has been re-painted in 1985, apparently the car had only 16,000 orig miles when purchased , all original except for a Hurst shifter and Crager Wheels. What was interesting though was the discussion with regard to the D88 stripes and the Malibu emblem on the door panels rather than the SS emblems. Now the emblem part I had heard before, but the D88 stripes is totally new, and I want to run it by you guys to see if you have seen this before. Apparently, there are 2 different styles of D88 stripes, radial corners and straight corners

!!! The radial corners were meant for the SS cars and the straight corners were meant for the malibu without the SS hood. So if the car had the Malibu door emblems it also got square cornered stripes

????? Now apparently this didn't happen all the tiume but Arlington had a history of quirky things. I have never seen any SS car with square stripes like this or heard of anything like this before. If anybody has any info on this or pics or original paint Arlington cars with original Malibu door panels , I'd love to see some pics !! Thx for your help. Bob
