Just had this battle with my 9yr old. Had to force him to learn to ride his bike w/o trining wheels. Gnashing of teeth and crying all the way, but he finally did it between "Dad, are you trying to kill me or somethin" and "my butt hurts"  Here's one I'll add- Picking up leftover bottle rockets (now illegal) and making a bomb out of the leftovers. Now you are a terrorist if you do that!  Anybody ever made a potato gun? Now those were fun!
