as far as desirable it would be the #198.In all cases, all the real cars have thier intakes im sure,so the market for L88 intakes is usually clone/vintage performance related.

Well I guess that answers my question regaurding a 198 intake I have. Thought it may have come from a car but more than likely over-the-counter.

Is there a record kept as to how many of these 198's or any other L-88 intakes that were produced? hundreds? thousands?

Thanks

I wouldn't be ready to throw it in the scrap heap just yet. One of the members here has been selling 198 intakes (very clean I might add) on ebay for around $1000 a pop, so they're not exactly worthless.

Wow good thing I checked back... I threw the 198 intake into the aluminum scrap bin at work.... Just kidding...

I realize there is some value in this one I have, except mine is a little different. The last 2 digits of the part number have been removed and hand stamped "98". Colvins CBTN book claims to have found some 198's this way. Maybe mine is an early one who knows. Its in good shape Maybe I will use it someday.
