I've never seen an L78 or LS6 out of Oshawa. Pretty sure that none were built there. Our COPO and L78 cars both came out of Baltimore. Unfortunately, I was in the old Oshawa north plant working on dies at the time. Sure would have liked to have been working in the car plant back then.
In '69 one of the guys I worked with bought a 300 Deluxe SS396 like yours. His was blue. Good looking cars with the bright work on the pillars. Did you notice that the Canadian built Chevelles didn't have the padded front pillar pieces. Both of our Chevelles and our el Camino are US built and have the padded pieces. These 300 series cars have a lot of little oddball things about them. SMS Auto Fabrics in Oregon have the basket weave material to repair the seats if they need it.

Chevelleless after 46 years......but we did find a low mileage, six speed, silver 2005 Corvette. It will just have to do for now.
