Default Carpet installtion advice for my '69 Corvette coup

Well I received my carpet set from Eckler's (ACC) and I am quite pleased with it. I started to fit the rear side panels and storage sections today and, as usual, I have a few questions.

1) Do you guys recommend glueing all carpet sections into the car or are there certain key pieces that require glueing? Having worked with contact cement before I am very leery about glueing some of the more tedious to install sections for fear that they'll get stuck before they are fit just right.

2) The floor sections of my original carpet had a rubber trim piece that went around the area where the front lap belt came through the carpet. My replacement carpet doesn't have this and I was wondering if this is something that can be transferred without too much difficulty or are there other suggestions for handling this?

That's all the questions I have for now; man is it nerve racking to trim the carpet or what? I don't know if I was sweating so much because it was so hot or from nerves.

Thanks for the help,
