Colvin says that the 388 block was used in rare Z/28 applications, and the Sept. '68 casting date would be correct for this block. Even Colvin says that it's a rare block, and that not much is known about it.
 What I find interesting is that the car is tagged for a black vinyl roof (missing), X coded befor X codes were used, and ZL2 hood before it was an available option.   Rare investment?  Trust everyone, but always cut the cards.
