[ QUOTE ]
Last monday, my son's Kung Fu teacher told me about a guy with 42 muscle cars in his yard (he had over a hundred at one time) the teacher is a Mustang guy but he also has some Vettes and just bought a 68 Camaro. He is a honest guy and I have seen some of his cars so I do not think it is just a story so I asked him to try to wrangle me a invite to look over what is left of the 42, it might all be junk or I may not even get a chance to look but it is worth a try. [/ QUOTE ] Well last night I got a little closer to getting an invite to this junkyard/hidden field. The story is that this guy has run the car crusher at Elisabethton Herb And Metal (no I am not kidding about the name) and every time a 60s/70s muscle car came into the yard he would take it home and park it in the field instead of crushing it. Fast forward to today...there is a creek that runs through the field and all the years of leaking oil and gas has gotten the attention of the EPA, the cars can not stay where they are now. So if I am to believe my friend the owner of the field has about a month to remove the cars (most likely crush). The 2 guys that told me this story are Mustang collectors but they know there are Chevy and Mopar (even a few Hemi's supposedly) cars sitting in this field. Before this all happens we are going to try to go take a look. Even if we come away with anything worth saving there is the problem of a very cloudy title history, these all were "junk" cars that no one wanted years ago and as such there was no thought of who owned them when they were placed in the field. Wish me luck!
