Default Re: muscle car junk yard found (a little late)

Unfortunately most of us I think probally know of a spot like you describe. The one that still sticks in my mind has dusters with the 340's still in them, probally 8-12 GTo's, chevelles with big blocks, etc.Apparently in the 60's and 70's the family owned a junk yard and had some deal with the insurance company on the smashed cars. Performance cars they aquired were taken from the junk yard pound and placed in a lower field on the family farm, where they sit today.
One brother took a passion to collecting any hood with a bump or scoop, plus 4 barrel and six pack air cleaners. No joke if there is not 200 air cleaners and 150 performance hoods in the cow barn there is not one. The stuff indoors was still good. They would not sell you anything but would trade only if you had something they wanted. I fluked that once about 10 years ago when they needed some 66 vet parts and that is how I got to see the stuff and ended up scraping a smashed complete 66 427 impala in the field. What was there, 427 motor right to the air cleaner, 4spd complete with the console, buckets, shifter, boots, tilt, tach, 3 ss hub caps and 12 bolt.
They are probally in their 60's now so hard to say what is going to take place.
