I recently purchased a 'lot' of BB parts and I have been looking up numbers to see what I have (or think I have). Included was a #3885069 Aluminum rectangular port intake, dated '2.8.66'. My books show it for a 1966 427/425 Corvette/passenger car and a 1966 396/375 Chevelle. In the description they ("Chevrolet By The Numbers") refer to three designs...3-hole closed plenum, 2-hole closed plenum and an open plenum. They state that the 3-hole design was used from August,1965 to June 23, 1967. This unit has what I would think is an 'open' plenum which they later state is only used on the L88 application. No machining (that I can detect) has been done to the plenum area....or is it an excellent job of opening up a 3-hole plenum?
So boys...what do I have here? Thanx in advance for your help. Rich ![]() ![]() ![]()
