skierkaj - how did you come across the "ebay" listing? Since its fake I'm guessing you found a link to it on a classified site, yes?

If so, these guys have found a way to do this outside of ebay so the "auction" doesn't get shut down. Place an ad on an enthusiast site and include a link to your fake ebay auction that's hosted on some anonymous site, get some sucker to bite and then email him posing as ebay to tell him how to complete the transaction. These guys must be making a killing.
