I wish I could have been there when these cars roamed the streets. Looks plain jane till you pull up next to it. No wonder not many have the original drivetrain, they were always provoked to race someone - you know it. Plain Jane camaros on roids. Nice car.

Heck I was around when they were new and clearly recall prowling the lot at Dale Chev in 1969. It is probably difficult for those new to the hobby to believe but as recently as 20 years ago these cars were no big deal. Having already admitted to leaving a relatively intact Olympic gold Yenko in a junkyard here's another flashback for you. Circa '82-'83 a friend calls. There is a '69 Camaro parked outside Peach's Auto Service on Milwaukees' south side. It is on a battery charger so the hood is up. The car is a beater, nothing special but has a bb heater box. This gets his attention as there are no SS emblems on it so he copies the VIN: 124379N613633. It was some college kid's beater that probably could have been had for a song.

Like I said, at that time they were no big deal.

Excuse my ignorance but, what does that VIN number correspond to? Was it a COPO car?
