Default Re: 1969 RS Z28 X-33 car (Is it real?)

Of course it is real. Auction states "'69 RS Z28 REAL X33"

I think you can infer the following from the auction:

1. Not the original engine. Although possible, I think April 2 is a little too early for this car. It would be a late July or car. VIN is only 1232 before my 08A car.

2. Not the original trans. Says "numbers correct" not numbers matching.

3. Not an original JL8 car for two reasons. First, too late, no JL8 after June, correct? Second, he doesn't say it is, so probably fair to say the rear brakes are aftermarket.

4. May be, but probably not the original color (not talking about the stripe color, which we know was not origianl), or he would have listed some trim tag data.

Still, a very nice looking car, at least in these pictures. Plenty to "bash" as far high restoration standards to original. A serious buyer would simply need to have it inspected. If the most important thing to you is the trim tag, have someone check it out. At the very least ask him to email you a high resolution pic. Ask Kurt S. to take a look. If the tag is bogus, you saved your time and money having it inspected.
