Default Re: Ceramic Coated Headers - Clean Up

Try a little bit of oven cleaner! Just a little.I had a plastic bag get on a stainless muffler and the residue looked horrible.I had a friend recommend the oven cleaner in a spray can and it worked great.Be careful not to get it on your skin or in your eyes because it will burn!I also use it to clean oil residue off of tailpipes, and down pipes.I have not tried it on coated headers so be careful.I did use it on a coated exhaust manifold and it worked OK.Also to the person that had a problem with jet hot coatings.I have had the same problems also.I have sent a set of exhaust manifolds back to the Mississppi Plant two times now for recoating under warranty. They have been nice about it and all it cost is shipping to them.I agree that it is a pain in the ass to keep removing them and sending them back though.I will use them again but nextime I will grind on and polish out the pits and blemishes before I send them for coating.
