That car exists! There was gentleman by the name of Jerry D. who found that car...Jerry was sort of a miracle worker in locating Camaros way back when and found that car up in Yucaipa, California!(He even used to race at Acsot-on dirt-a 1969 Black RS-Z28) I doc'd that car as he called me to come and see this thing back in the late 80's. It was mind blowing to say the least as he couldn't even believe what he was seeing himself. That car had a 396 4-speed in it and the trans hump had a hole for a shift cable to be used. We did much consideration over what GM might have done at that time! We eventually felt that GM had to push thru several chassis in order to make the deadline to deliver these cars for pre-race issues. I recall on that car that there were other small things that were QUITE unique to it as well! For example, that car had metal grab bars on both the rear seat passenger areas up hi on the metal inner panels. There was also a grab bar just under the passenger's side A-frame of the windshield...under the chrome top panels because the top wouldnt close if it was on top! That car was still in it's original paint and still carried the blue pin striping all the way along the top of the body line! His car was a LOS built car! I think later down the line he had some rear flags made up for it alike the one in the other auction in Texas. I am doing my best to remember that car because it has been so long since I've seen it!....I do remember that it was a very early car, something like a January build I think...but it has been almost 15 years since Ive seen it. I can try to call him and see if he has any pics leftover from those days as I know he sold it several years ago as he got out of doing Camaros. He is still around so I will try for you to help prove this car is real!
