Default year one fuel pump to carb lines

i just recently installed the #RSF18S fuel line assy. for 69 302 Z28 / 70-72 350 Z28 for holley dual feed models.i'm having a tough time sealing the fuel leaks especially @ the fuel block were a 3/8" and two 5/16" line come into it.is there a trick into assembling it like working from the bowls to the block or ??.all the lines are hard to assemble or to fit correctly.are these lines an exact copy of the originals or are they just a poor quality assembly.i like the look of the lines it gives the car that day 2 old school look i want. so if anyone has any answers i would greatly appreciate it
