Default Re: 9 F 17 1100837 alternator for sale

OK OK enough!! 67 camaro I have many comments to make. This all started with,"837 alternator for sale, appears original condition,,no pulley/fan spins free.Make reasonable offer
1st For you to say I would have been (upset) if you would have asked it's condition is a little unfair,I was thinking "original condition" was somewhat of a decription although now I see that could have a wide meaning. No one accused you of wanting to "steal" it by the way, your name was not included in that phrase.2nd You though maybe I should have asked in a different post as to what it's value was.I think if I would have done that you would not have been interested as you would have felt the price was "inflated" that I would have listed.3rd I never said I "only" wanted to sell it to someone to put on their own car,by then I was demonstrating a point with the 5K car purchased 20 years ago was worth 85K today and thus what I paid for the alternator was irrelevant as it had been around the garage forever.
4th I have never had anyone seriously ask me what I paid for something when I was selling it and if asked they surely didnt expect an answer or aleast an honest one!
The only 837 alt I had noticed for sale was on this site for I think $650 and it was "rebuilt" thus what one missing some pretty important parts was worth I had not idea.Even if the buyer is also a seller he will not profit without some time and effort and searching for the correct pulley and fan.One other thing on determining the price is how it's dated.Good date, bad date I still have no idea I was offered what I though had to be a "reasonable" price and definately more than it was worth to me as I had no car that it added value to.
No we have reached the point that you have a bad feelings against the buyer because I accepted his offer. Come on!!!
I have no hard feelings over this deal twords anyone.Next time I will list a price that I think is to high and say OBO! In this day in age of $2200 steering wheels,$3200 distributers and $5000 rearends a guy hates to short himself!
I may have ended the sale prematurely as I though the post was going down hill so hopefully this is the bottom of the hill.
