Default crank case pan evac for the street

any thoughts or comments on running a pan evac on a very healthy sbc street motor.i'm running no pcv system and oil is soaking my 2 breathers on the valve covers.i was told that a pan-evac will help control /stop oil leaks and create lost h.p .i've gone completely over my motor and it's mechanically good.i'm just tired of the oil smell driping from the breathers onto the headers, due to not running a pcv system.will running a pan-evac be asking for more problems or am i ok with it
