Default 427/396 Cranks 7115/6223

Does anyone have hands on experience with these 427/7115 or 6223 crank shafts.
I need to know how to tell the 427 crank from the 396 Crank and I am told it was to be the size of the thrid counter weight from the front back. I Have yet to find one 6223 which measures 7/8".
My early original 427 blocks all have the 6223 cranks. Could it be that they were just weighted/balanced differently (369 to 427)?
These 6223's are tufrided and cross drilled. I do not have a 7115 crank to compare.
