1969 Boss 429 KK1263 back in action
My late friend Gary McKay left a couple of unfinished projects that his wife wanted to complete to put a finishing touch on his car collecting legacy. He had bought KK1263 about 25 years ago after it had been displayed at Floyd Garrett’s museum. It was a very nice car but it had a problem with the wiring harness. It was partially disassembled and then a bunch of life happened and a bunch of other cars jumped in line ahead of it. After sitting dormant so long, we determined that it would be best to send it to someone with Boss 429 experience to safely get it operational and finish to the level Gary would have. I was given a reference to Marcus Anghel by a friend who is a retired restorer himself, and made a visit to Anghel Restorations in Scottsdale, AZ in January 2025. I liked what I saw and knew Gary’s family would feel comfortable working with him. He came to Tacoma to look at the car and meet the family, and they mutually agreed to move forward. It has been a very good experience working with him, and the quality is second to none. The car is ready and looks incredible (check out the detail on the magnesium valve covers of this original S motor car). Gary’s son in law is currently taking delivery and has dropped off the final “project”-a 1970 Boss 302 last driven in 1986. Below are a few pictures of KK1263 as it was dropped, and how it looks today, running and driving around Scottsdale.
