Not all Teams got the all aluminum Engine, in 67-68 only the Chaparall Team tested them and in 1969 the Mclaren Team also got access to it. now 430 and 465.
There were L88 engines for other Teams, 430 452 465 Iron block.

Yes, I believe Bill King got involved in the very early 70s after Foltz, building for Owens Corning, Chaparral etc. I had a Bill King built LS7 with aluminum heads in my '70 Vette (original owner had Bill King Racing Engines build it)...50 year old build that still runs like a clock.
