I’ve been waiting for my friend Gary M. to finish his refresh of what I think has to be one of the nicest 427 Fairlanes in existence. It’s one of just 3 black on black R-code XL’s made that year, and its just a stunner. It was a low mileage car restored back in the 90’s with what looks like a treasure trove of NOS parts (including 427 specific exhaust system!) and still looks new. Refresh involved installation of a date correct ‘67 427 block we found a few years back and an absolutely stunning new upholstery job. Peak Ford muscle in every way. I’m looking forward to seeing it make its first public appearances since it was in Floyd Garrett’s museum 20 years ago.
