Look at this X77 Grill

On this auction car that was recently discussed in the classifieds, please tell me what I am seeing here towards the outer right side of the grill? I ask because this image has bugged me since I saw it a few weeks ago, and appears to have another painted piece of a grill wedged between the grill and the driver's side fender???

Is that a chunk of painted plastic grill inserted between the grill and the inside edge of the fender to fill in some gap or possibly a large void?

I mean it's one of those Duffy's cars so it wouldn't surprise me. Opinions
