Well, I had replied before and realized you said it was waterproof. I've seen black paper tape most of the time. It seems like they used black chalk and tape to help hold it in place. The black tape I've used before for, for things like light bleed from a gauge package is an "artist" tape. It's used a lot on stages and displays. There's a sorta semi flat and a flat black. The brand I've used before is made by Shurtape. Shurtape has a website. There's a staging place near me in Burbank that sells it. I haven't seen it in 2.5", but they have a 2".
