When I said straight up on the 375 cam, I meant installed right out of the box, no degreeing. He later had the cam degreed and moved it to 4 degrees advanced. That produced so much low end that the car kept blowing the tires off. Cure was to retard the cam back to where it had been originally. For the record, the 375 cam was a TRW/Federal Mogul/Sealed Power (whichever name they were using at the time) replacement part, not a GM original.
