The U17 oil hole is up and to the left slightly of the Muncie speedo cable hole. Here's a couple pics of original U17 oil line piercings. Unfortunately copper is not safest because of the vibrations between the body and motor. I was thinking about going that route and was talked out of it. Original style plastic line works well when installed correctly. Copper was only used on the big blocks to go from the filter location up to above the exhaust manifold. Plastic went from there to the console oil gauge. Small blocks went directly off the top of the block.
I have a bad connection right now, so Flickr isn't loading like it should. I have a few more pics if you want them that I can post later.








This is where the big block transitions from copper to plastic.
