Yes, Bill, you have to get virtually all of the old water/coolant mix out.
I wouldn't consider it for a conversion, but I am building an engine to go in my 49 Studebaker truck so wouldn't have to clean out old coolant.

Cost is significantly more than traditional coolant. Lots of internet debates on this. Guys on both sides get as passionate as the arguments for/against zinc in oil, and whether 60's GM wheels are lug centric or hub centric.

I was simply looking for input from those with personal experience.
