Default Re: Dust Covers

White is always a excellant day two option Eddie!

I have received the repro covers, a whopping $8 including shipping. I didn't expect much, but overall they are what they are.

First step was to remove the zinc....60 psi in the fine glass bead cabinet.

Second step, finishing the metal and prepping to finish. I was happy at this steps completion, but I wanted them aged a bit and I've still never seen them this crisp.

Final step was aging them or better yet, adding the correct patina....Day 2 if you will...Used a OA torch to heat to approx 250 degree and quenched them in oil bath. The oil never boiled, just a smooth dip. My days spent heat treating came back to me quick.
