Lawrence,

Unless the rear shocks are air shocks, they will not affect the ride height. The springs and and related suspension parts are what support the weight of the car and directly affect ride height.

Based on your observation that the car was repaired on the right side, have you put the car on an alignment rack and taken frame measurements, and then compared the measurements to the assembly manual specs?
