Hi April,
Removing the cover is no big deal and is really the only way at this point to figure out what you have, especially since you can't be fully sure about the axle stamping. If the gear numbers are correct, the chances are excellent that you have at the very least, a COPO rear-end. The best of luck to you! Dave
