why did your dad put those mud flaps on the car? to protect the paint? </div></div> They did protect the paint, lots of people still lived on dirt roads back then The flaps did a good job of protecting the area around where they were but if driven a lot on dirt roads the area AROUND got peppered as well ... My 70 Z28 had them on it when I bought it, I suspect they were added when the car was painted in 76 or so ...
