New to Super Cars
I recently Purchased two 70 Nova SS 396 4 speed cars. I wanted one but had to buy two to get the Hugger Orange L-78 I wanted. It was an ex drag car. No roll bars just Rear wheel wells "enlarged" The motors were both long gone. I Brought the first one home a white L-34 and tried to Sell it to a Restore who told me to wait that it was a real L-34 396 350 hp 4 speed and I would regret selling it!. Basic interior rubber matt car. Thanks Rick for that one!I took it home and Went back the next day to Dunn Nc to get the One I wanted. Rick could not Beleive that I had found two Big Block SS 396 cars. The White L-34 was a New york Original car and the Original Owner lived in NC. I have meet him and Got stories on the car. The original Motor was "Too weak" and he replaced it with an L-88 427 to Street race. WJ told me all the history of the car.It was a street racer as he called it. Very cool guy!
The Orange car that I had my heart set on was more of a challenge. No title and No one wanted to talk about it?? The Nephew of the owner would not tell me his uncle's name??Only that the car was from Baltimore MD.The car was Raced at Monrovia 75-80 drag way.(it has a winner sticker on the Quarter Glass.) I searched Maryland Dmv and found no records due to my error. (lookin at cowl tag and not dash vin) I then went to Va dmv and found no Records. I contacted Maryland and got what I needed. I have documentation on the cars now.Trying to find an L-34 for a feb built car and a May L-78 as I had one under my nose and let it slip away! UGH!
