Dick Harrell team car (THE LEAD SLED)

This car is one of the most original and documented race cars out there. It would be tough to pick up a Super Stock magazine in 70 or 71 and not see a picture or a write up about Tom Akin or the Lead Sled in it. This car was 1 of 2 L72 Kingswood Wagons built with the 427/425 motor the other one is in the GM museum. The car was ordered through Schukel Chevrolet by John Day, the dealer's performance manager. The Lead Sled was 1 of 5 Dick Harrell race team cars and was the 1970 AHRA Top Stock National Champion among many other titles. It is a twenty five-time AHRA World Record Holder.
