If the car has never been restored it is in your favor. Looked down upon may be the wrong wording. I think a frame-off car needs paper more than one that is just a repaint and a maintained car. A car will identify itself usually in time. Sometimes people get to paranoid over paper. Buying the car or buying the paper? Besides I own a 69 Z/28 and a 69 SS nova. Don't matter how much paper those cars have they would probably be upside down on a real nice resto job in todays market.
