This site breaks down GM vehicle options equipped w/ your Vin also gives production #'s of like equipped vehicles..
It notes some Vins are in the database as far back as 1980 too!.

I haven't tried the Part# thing...anyone w/ some older #'s handy wanna' give it a go?.

Great site to bookmark too and although the info's not completed yet it looks like they're compiling more including things like RPO listings back to 1953!.
